I have visited with voters door to door in Lincoln, Dutton, Fairfield, Augusta and Choteau.  My family and dedicated campaign volunteers have attended every parade in House District 17.  I have attended many listening sessions on different issues to educate myself.  One thing I have noticed is an attack upon Montanans who wish to farm, ranch, log, and now even the outfitting business is under attack.
 
We have an influx of radical envionmentalists who move to our state because they seek our culture and our life style.  They envy our rural lifesystle, and small town values.  They are drawn here becasue of who we are...once settled here they try to "preserve" our culture.  They want to shut down natural resources, turn our public lands into monuments and wilderness, they choke us with their well intended lawsuits and long reaching envionmental protections.  They believe they are saving us from ourselves.  They believe that we don't recognize what we have or how to successfully care for it.  They want to manage our land for us because we cannot be trusted to protect it.  The TRUTH...we are here because we know how to utilize and protect our resources.  Our survival has depended uon it.  We were raised by hard working people who understood that managing land and resources was essential to their survival.  So I say to you exteme envionmentalists who think you know better how to care for our land and our culture...thanks but NO THANKS!
 
 
 We need a governent that will support our efforts to create jobs, through businesses, agriculture and natural resources.  We need strong leadership that will push back government growth restore the power to the people.
 
 
 
 
 
I will work hard to build our state stronger.  We have an opportunity to make Montana a place where ranchers can ranch and farmers can farm.  We must get behind our small businesses, let Montana be a place where business can thrive.  Our natural resources are a vast store of untapped energy that can not only create energy, they can create jobs and revenue for Montana.
